The Circle — Lunavariah

Made in Small Batches: Why the Circle Holds at One Hundred

There is a difference between a garden gathered a little at a time and a field harvested all at once. One is tended by hand, watched as it ripens, and brought in when it is ready. The other is measured in volume. Lunavariah has always belonged to the first kind of making — and the Circle was shaped to protect that.

Every Lunavariah formula begins with Athena. She creates the formulas herself — the botanical blends, the textures, the quiet intention behind each balm, butter, serum, and soap. Her makers then produce them in small batches. Nothing sits waiting on a warehouse shelf, and Athena holds no upfront inventory. A batch is made because it is wanted, in a quantity that can be made with care.

Small batches change what is possible. Ingredients are handled fresh and in proportion. Attention does not have to be divided across thousands of identical units racing down a line. If a season shifts, or a botanical is better sourced a little differently, a small batch can respond. It is slower work, on purpose — the same unhurried rhythm you find in a kitchen where a family recipe is made the way it was handed down, not scaled until it loses itself.

That is also why the Circle holds at one hundred.

Each year, the store takes on only 100 new members. Members receive first access to every batch — they shop first, before the batch opens to everyone else — and 10% off all year, from Samhain to Samhain. For that promise to be honest, it has to match the size of the batches themselves. If first access were offered to everyone, it would not be first access at all. One hundred keeps the window real: small enough that a small batch can truly serve its members first, and steady enough that her makers can keep pace without rushing the work.

The store stays open to everyone, always. The public shops what remains after the members' window — nothing is locked away for good, it is simply offered in order. Think of it as the front row of a very small garden: the Circle tends the first picking, and then the gate opens wide.

It matters most as Christmas shopping approaches. Batches made for gifting are still small batches. Circle members are inside that first window when those batches land, which is exactly what the Circle was built for — a calmer, kinder way to choose gifts before the season turns frantic.

If that way of making speaks to you, you are warmly invited to enter.

Enter the Circle: Sign up at lunavariah.com/pages/the-circle to enter the draw. Entries close October 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern. On Samhain, October 31, 2026, 100 names are drawn at random and winners are emailed that day. No purchase is necessary to enter. If fewer than 100 people enter, every entrant receives a membership. Members get first access to every batch and 10% off all year; membership runs Samhain to Samhain.
